“ Great establishment. It has a Cracker Barrel feel but not a chain restaurant atmosphere and the food is MUCH better. I got the Cowboy burger and it hit the spot like nothing else. Hot, juicy, perfectly cooked and big. She got the fried chicken sandwich which was also BIG. The blooming onion was fantastic as well. Prices are pretty decent, the place was busy but no wait to be seated or our order taken. Our server was friendly and attentive as well. ”
“ The food was great! It was our first time at Johnny's for our family of five, and everyone loved it. Everyone had some variation of fried chicken, and it was great. My wife and I had their BBQ cheddar and bacon chicken, but with fried chicken instead of grilled. It was delicious. I did need to ask for more of their Cheerwine sauce (it's so good). The portion of the chicken was very large too. I had the sweet potatoes and mac and cheese sides. Both were good. Not the best, but very much what you'd expect. The cornbread was moist and just sweet enough. It was excellent. The kids had chicken and waffles/tenders, and everyone was happy with their choices. The place was clean, and the service was prompt and friendly. ”
“ My wife and I decided to try a random new restaurant at 8:30 pm, this establishment closes at nine. Gratefully we were still greeted kindly by amazing staff, clean dinning areas and warm delicious food. We 100% recommend this southern comfort hidden gem, if you are in the area. I secondly recommend the chicken, broccoli rice casserole and if you have a sweet tooth like myself they make banana pudding just like grandma used to ! We absolutely will be returning soon ! ”
“ Absolutely delicious food! For an appetizer we ordered the Barbecue Chicken House Chips (my new guilty pleasure!). The potato chips were delicious by itself and the chicken, barbecue sauce and cheese took it to the next level of yumminess. My husband ordered The Famous Buttermilk Fried Half Chicken (no sauce), mac and cheese, fried okra, and a corn muffin, with Sweet tea to drink. The chicken was crispy, you could hear the 'crunch' when he bit into it. He enjoyed the okra, said it wasn't slimy (I'm not a fan of okra and I wouldn't try it). I got the Classic Beef Liver and Onions, collard greens, mac and cheese, and a corn muffin, with Blackberry iced tea (so freakin good!!!!) to drink. I got two pieces of liver under a generous mound of onions. The liver was tender and tasty, it didn't taste like iron at all. It's one of the best tasting liver I've had at a restaurant. (My husband doesn't like liver but he tried it, and said he could eat it if he was starving- that's a win for this liver!) The onions could have been grilled a little bit more but were seasoned well. The mac and cheese was gooey and had a crust on top, but it was average tasting- it wasn't a boxed mac and cheese, not the worst tasting, but not the best mac and cheese I've had. However the collard greens were fantastic! They were perfectly tender with great flavor. No vinegar taste, like other restaurant's collard greens, but had the perfect blend of spices that actually complemented the collard greens and let the collards flavor shine through. I enjoyed dipping the corn muffin into the juice of the collard greens. The corn muffin was sweet and soft and delicious! I could taste the honey in the corn muffin. Perfect texture throughout the corn muffin. I ordered a strawberry punch cake to-go (too full to eat it at the restaurant). When I opened the container at home, I could smell the strawberry, just like strawberry punch (oh so yummy!). The cake was moist and fresh, and reminded me of raspberry zingers. The service was great! Our server was courteous and friendly, and attentive to us. And the food came out fairly quickly. We spent about 40 minutes in the restaurant for lunch. The restaurant has a Takeout counter, and Daily Specials. The parking lot is huge, and the restaurant has plenty of seating for all those parking spaces, inside and outside seating. I will definitely be back again with my family when they visit me. There's such a variety of food to choose from I know that everyone will find something delicious to eat...even my vegetarian cousin! ”
“ In kannapolis for work and decided to try out Johnnys Farmhouse amd so glad I did as everything was GREAT! From the atmosphere to the service and the food there is Nothing I would change at all. I will def be back before leaving town. ”
“ My husband and I stumbled upon this hidden gem while working in the area, and we're so glad we did. We ordered the pot roast and the catfish filet—both dishes were served hot, packed with flavor, and the portions were generous, definitely worth every penny. There was hardly any wait, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server, Janelle, was absolutely amazing—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She wore a friendly smile the entire time. Her excellent service truly elevated our experience. We’ll definitely be back again soon! ”
“ First time visiting a Johnny's Farmhouse Restaurant and it won't be the last. Visited for dinner on Friday evening. The place was busy but the staff handled it with ease. Our server was awesome, super knowledgeable about the varied menu options. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. ”
